Problems detecting Network Adapter

Hi,

I have an MSI K9N Neo with an AMD AM2 Dual Core 4200 processor.

Upon loading windows, it does not always have the integrated network
adapter detected. When I go to the hardware manager it just isn't
there. However, if I reboot it occasionally finds it.

Also, it freezes while booting sometimes, while halfway detecting the
USB devices.

What is causing this issue? I'd rather not have to install the chipset
update as I have no floppy drive.
