Problems with USB

THe USB does not always register. Usually when it is low on power,
but i had it fail to pick up a drive as well with power on.
Eventually it works, so I'm wondering if it is me or the machine.

Sounds like it could be the computer if it's only one USB port. Try going
into Device Manager and deleting all the USB ports. When you restart the
computer it will find them again (it should, really it should) and that
might fix it. If it's just one device then it might be that device.
