Hi,

I am interested in buying a Proliant a DL 160 for my business, but I
would rather get the drives from a 3rd party, since HP makes a killing
sellings those drives. Is this possible?

I've been burnt in the past like that, when someone sold me a server
without the drives and wouldn't provide any drive cages to mount the
drives.

Thanks!

Before you buy, check eBay for the drive trays you might need. There is a lot
of useful computer gear being sold on eBay at affordable prices from reputable
sellers... Ben Myers

why would you buy a HP server then wimp out on cheapo drives?

You won't be able to update firmware on non-HP drives jammed into that
machine, then you no longer have a complete system HP will support.

I've searched on-line for such trays and I haven't been able to find
anything. If anyone knows some reseller that might sell those trays, I
would appreciate if they could tell me.

Thanks!

HP sells them, and they even come with the hard drive (what a concept).
