I am having a problem with my D830 allowing me to remove it from the
advanced port replicator. When I push the undock button on the D830,
I get messages on my D830 screen that says that items plugged into the
replicator are keeping the D830 from being undocked. One of them was
a "generic" storage device (probably my USB backup storage drive, but
it was not identified) and the other (believe it or not) was my
Cardscan 60. The Cardscan 60 is a business card reader. It is most
likely connected to a driver that may not be releasing it, but I have
no reason to believe that there would be any problem if I did remove
the D830 from its docking to the port replicator. How can I avoid
logging out (or can I)? I have another Latitude D610 that is several
years old using XP and I have never had a problem in getting it to
allow me to remove it from the port replicator by pushing the "undock"
button. I never had to log out of my D610 on XP. I would think that
the undock button could be made to do whatever was necessary to make
the D830 undock.
