Question on K7VTA3 v8.0c

I picked up one of Fry's specials (K7VTA3 v8.0c and a 1.6g duron) for
a backup system. Eveything seems to work OK except for 2 things:
1- The speaker connector on the MB doesn't seem to generate any
signal. I tried several case speakers and get no beeps during post.
2- The MB temp sensors show one temperature which fluctuates wildly.
The CPU temp seems to be Ok but the other (which I presume is for the
MB) fluctuates between 16C and 64C. I get the same results with
Speedfan, Motherboard Monitor, Hardware Sensors mMonitor, etc.

Has anyone had similar experiences with this board?

I am also using the same motherboard from Fry's (w/ AMD 2400 XP) and the
speaker connect seems to work fine. I do get the beep.

How about your temperature readings? I can live without the beeps, but
the temp fluctuation concerns me.
Thanks for the reply

I'm getting POST beeps, but wildly fluctuating case temperature. Like you
the CPU temp appears stable.

My CPU temp reading is stable. It is around 41 - 43C usually.
