question regarding replacing drives on HP Proliant storage server

Hello All,
Question - We have a HP Proliant storage server with Raid 6 built(10
drives). We found one drive had amber light blinking, so contacted HP-
they said it's a predictive failure. A replacement sent to us. I know
if a drive in the Raid 5/6 failed, you could directly pull it out, and
insert a good drive, then the array will be rebuilt. Not sure if that
will be the same for this case, the drive still not failed and
active. Or is there anything I need to do before I swap the drives.

The controller will "fail" the disk when you unplug it. You can safely do
this with the system running. A rebuild can slow your array down so doing
this at off hours can help sometimes.
