Radeon 9700 Pro with L7S7A2...

I have an ATI 9700 Pro card that is exhibiting crashes on the L7S7A2
motherboard when running any 3D or DirectDraw application (including
the dxdiag program).

I am running Windows XP with all the latest updates, as well as the
latest ATI drivers.

The problem I am getting is when any program tries to start in 3D
mode, the screen goes black (or it's a blank window in the new screen
resolution). Then it hangs until eventually I get a Window message
saying..."The device has failed, but Windows has recovered." My
system doesn't crash, but I am left with a VGA mode until I reboot.

The card works fine on another PC that I tried...so it is unlikely the
card. I turned AGP off in the Smartgart program that ATI comes with,
no difference.

Has anyone else had similar problems or issues? Anyone successfully
run a 9700 Pro video card on the L7S7A2 motherboard?

Thanks for any advice...

Greg

ECS has done the last bios update to fix instabilities with Radeon cards.
You can try it.

Same problems (with Ati 9100 and now with 9600Pro)! Even during DVDrip
and other operations (my ram and all the others components are ok). I've
installed the latest bios but nothing has changed. I've also contacted
ECS and I'm waiting for their response. My configuration : Barthon 2500+
"AQXEA" (no Overclocked),Ati 9600pro (same issue with a 9100), 512 MB
Adata (I've tried also 512MB of twinmos), HD Western Digital 120GB.

Ciiips
