First guess is that it's one of the recent worms / viruses.
I don't recall the name(s)at the moment; the constant and random rebooting
is a symptom.
(There is a possibility that your power supply is failing but I think that
is _not_ the issue here.)
I'd suggest this route:
Plug the alternate drive in and use it as your boot (C

drive.
Install the current boot drive as the primary slave or secondary master.
Go online, connect to [
http://www.pandasoftware.com] and run their online
ActiveScan.
If the issue is the virus or worm, the scan will take care of it if
possible.
You might then consider investing in a hardware router / firewall (Linksys,
Netgear, DLink, etc.) and a good self-updating antivirus scanner.
Panda, AVG, Symantec all have good reputations. I can't speak of McAfee as
I haven't used it for years.
