Go to Asus's website, download all different versions of the C-Media driver
for your motherboard. There will probably be 3 or 4 different versions. One
of those should work for you. I assume you tried the latest version?,
Microsoft's version? I had problems with my C-Media on my P4S533, it was
cured by using the second version available, not the most recent version.
However, I did eventually disable the onboard C-Media sound and install an
SB Live. I read on one of the review sites that using the onboard sound
drags the motherboard performance down a little. Best to use separate sound
card for sound. In addition, I really did like the sound and capabilities of
the C-Media though. I just didn't want the performance hit. Besides I'm not
a big MP3er or anything. Let me know what you find.
