Adam,
No. Try Chris' and/or my suggestions independently (with the battery removed
and AC disconnected). When you've reseated the RAM, you can re-insert the
battery as well as re-connect the AC to test.
Same thing in removing the hard drive and optical drive (or floppy drive).
Pull the power and battery. Remove the drives. Re-insert the battery,
re-connect the power and test.
Battery shouldn't have any effect, but you could remove it and leave it out
during trouble-shooting if you like, just run on AC power.
