When you save your drivers, where do they come from? I'm going to install XP on another hard disk
and I'm kind of wondering if downloaded all of the right ones from the Dell site.

You know, sometimes the Recovery method for your make and model contains
an error and may include older or the wrong drivers. And the same could
be true for the manufacturer's webpage. Although the latter they might
be newer which is okay most of the time. But sometimes newer can break
things too.

But what always works is grabbing the drivers from your OS. You can do
this manually, or with software which makes this easy. Here is one that
is free and is non-commercial.

DriverBackup! (free)

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'd like to do it manually if possible. I don't want to trust
software that could make a mistake. I like most things I've tried from sourceforge.
