Your laptop was corrupted before it even left the factory because it had Vista
installed on it.

I remain committed to XP on my primary system(s) right now. I'm no fan of
Vista.

But... I can tell you that I'm encourage by the performance increases I've
seen from a fresh install of Vista (not a factory or image restore) on a
couple of machines.

The difference is significant, and the performance is much closer to
acceptable.

IMO, what people are seeing are the 1-2 punch of Vista combined with the
OEM/trial bloat of a factory image.

Couple that with an underpowered hardware configuration and it guarantees an
unhappy user.

Who's complaining? It seems to me it's the people still using XP that
are complaining about Vista.
