Start with the least expensive. Replace the 3.3v lithium CMOS battery.
If that does not do it, the hard drive may be failing. If the drive
is failing, repairing the computer may not be worth it with lots of
computers with better operating systems available for short money.
Windows ME was a major disaster for Microsoft. Not as big as the
Windows Vista mess, but major... Ben Myers
