When changing cards, you should go to Add/Remove and remove the driver,
before pulling the old card. Then install the new card. Boot up and
install the driver again.
Even though the Nvidia driver is a "jumbo" driver and supports many
cards, what it puts in the registry and what files it uses for each
card could be different. That is why, if you pull one Nvidia card and
install another Nvidia one, you should uninstall and reinstall the driver.
And ideally, uninstall the driver while the old card is still there.
I looked at the ECS manual, and didn't see mention of a disable for
the 945G. I downloaded an Asus manual, for one of their 945G boards,
and the BIOS offers "Disabled", "Enabled, 1MB", and "Enabled, 8MB" as
options.
Is it possible, that the monitor has to be connected to the Nvidia
card, before you can go to the BIOS and select "Disabled" for
"Shared memory size" in the BIOS ?
Even if the 945G is still enabled, I would think your 7200 GS should
properly load the driver you provided.
