What rookie, how in the world can he install motherboard drivers when he
can't get past partitioning?
1. Quit using that partition program.
2. I would imagine that you have partitioned in some other format rather
than NTFS? Then what is left of the drive the 7XXX portion you are
partitioning in NTFS?
3. When XP asks about the partitions, Delete whatever you have there from
that program, then recreate the entire partition using the XP program,
making it all an NTFS partition.
4. Once you get past this segment XP will walk you through the rest of the
setup. Go through with it. The real litmus test of your BIOS settings will
not be revealed till you get to the GUI. Once in you will then need to
install the rest of the drivers for your system. I would suggest having the
BIOS setup properly before installing Windows, many headaches will be
avoided this way, follow the manual for the most direct and popular choices
for your hardware.
