I doubt the cpu damaged the DDR after swapping cpus, hsfs, memory on boards
I find cpus hard to kill. If the 2200+ cpu works that's better than a 1800+
cpu. Check the memory socket on the old board to see if there's damage.
I've had an OEM chip or two from Fry's just die. My question is, does the
old cpu, memory and board work now that you've found the bad chip. And if
it works can you get your money back from Fry's?
