You will do much better, get better service, more competent personnel, and a
wider range of options if you contact Dell's Small Business unit, rather than
the Comsumer schlockmeisters.

Keep in mind when buying a laptop EXACTLY how portable it will be. It gets real
old real fast to carry around a 17" "desktop replacement" every day. For
frequent travel out and about, I like my older IBM Thinkpad X30 with a 12" sharp
LCD screen. Dell makes/made similar models, weighing less than 4 pounds. Even
when packed with the docking station (with CD-RW drive), power supply and
assorted network troubleshooting hardware, the system weighs well under 10
pounds. The big 17" ones often start at 10 pounds for the system unit alone...

Well I was asking Ben actually... but have you considered a laptop with
an external monitor and perhaps an external keyboard and mouse (like
what I do)?

I have not. The X30 is not too large and not too small. It is just right for
this bear to have with porridge... Ben
