There are several. "Network" = "Ethernet", right? J2550A is the oldest and it
supports 10m bits/sec 10BaseT. J4106A is also 10BaseT. J2556A also supports
100m bits/sec 100BaseT. I ***THINK*** those are the important models. Speed
of network connection is not too important unless you are running an
all-100BaseT network with a 100BaseT-only switch, hub, or router. The older
models are very inexpensive. HP's Install Network Printer Wizard works well
with JetDirects.
A JetDirect fits into the MIO slot of a LaserJet 4. The newer EIO cards are not
compatible with the LJ4.
A networked LaserJet 4, 4+, 5, or whatever is a real treat to use compared to
parallel port connections... Ben Myers
