Free providers are fine, but you can't always count on them being around when they're not making any money. And as much as I enjoy your company, in a perverse sort of way, I'm not prepared to pay for the privilege.

After ceaseless problems with nntp.charter.net, I switched to
news.motzarella.org yesterday, and also ditched the old and unsupported
Free Agent in favor of Thunderbird as a news reader. The last 18 hours
have been first rate with quick responses, no hangs, and no flaky
messages... Ben Myers

Hi Ben: I also switched to Motzarella. Had to since Comcast dumped
newsgroup service and kept it a secret until almost the last minute. So
far Motzarella is fine, but it takes a few seconds to poll for headers.
No big deal.
