Do you have much use for dashboard?

Nope. When it was introduced, I thought that I would, but I find myself
hardly ever using it.

I love lots of buttons. I'm still mourning the demise of Kensington's
Thinking Mouse which had a total of 6 (4 buttons and 2 'chording'
buttons). I had high hopes for the Magic Mouse, but only 2 buttons is a
deal breaker. I'm now considering the Wacom Bamboo Touch trackpad ($69,
list) which seems to have good gesture support (9) AND 4 programmable
buttons. Anyone have any experience with this device?

About twenty years ago a mouse was introduced with something like a dozen
buttons on the top, the purpose being that each of the buttons could be
assigned to a function in Excel. It wasn't around very long!

only a dozen? lame. 17 buttons is where it's at!

So do I. I wonder if they could program it so that a 2 finger click
would replace the third button?

So, is this magic mouse basically a multi-touch Macbook trackpad
curved into a mouse shape?

no, the gestures are different.

Not quite, it's a regular optical mouse with a multi-touch surface that
replaces the track ball. One-finger swipes act as the trackball does on
the Mighty Mouse; two finger swipes move forward and backwards between
pages in Safari (and maybe some other apps).

But I wrote "scroll wheel or ball button". I was referring to the lack of
the button.
