Hey Wilson! I found another person with my exact issue. At this very moment
I am doing what you just already did. WD diagnostics, because Promise
Support pointed the proverbial finger at the Raptors. I'm almost done with
a Burn In test in SiSandra with both Raptors plugged into the ICH5 slots.
Gonna do a HD test a few times.
My RAID0 failed after 2days of use, while I was surfing in IE, I got a BSOD
crash out of nowhere and when it rebooted, no array, drive failure. At the
time I had only BIOS v1007 installed and aggressive DDR settings. What
sticks are in your slots?
This is occuring too much on this board. I haven't seen this issue with any
other controller or board.
Now I have BIOS v1008.004. All the while I have had 378RAID100130 provided
by Asus installed. I followed the steps in WinXP SP1 Home, CTRL+F and F6 to
set it up. When I lost my drive, I setup another, array 2 and that wiped
out the data on first array. It wouldn't let me rebuild. It wouldn't let
me reboot into OS. So now I'm on ICH5 w/o an array. I out here lurking
trying to find a fix for this problem, before I do it all over again.
I have wrote Asus about it, yesterday. No reply yet. I'm not really
expecting a reply until next month. By then tho this motherboard may be
shoeboxed. I've lost faith in Asus. LanParty is my next board. They want
customers it would appear. I don't think Asus wants to help the individual.
They do B2B to screw the little man.
Sincerely,
Brad
