You listed everything but the power supply and the symptoms you describe
could be an under powered PSU.
When you 1st boot there is not enough power to spin everything up...but a
reset does not cut the power to everything and
all of a sudden every thing powers up because some of the hardware still has
power.

Even though the power supply may have sufficient output for the load it
may still not be putting out enough on one of the rails when starting.
The one I mentioned worked fine for months at a time as long as the
computer was not turned off. This is a very hard problem to diagnose
without a spare supply to swap in for a quick test.

Just to let you know I have the same problem but it my case it is
always the usb storage devices which are causing the issue. I could
not find the solution through
