When you did the XP install, did it boot properly the first time after
install finished, or did you just shut it down at that point?
If the latter, the chances are that 'SATA Configuration' in the BIOS
is set to AHCI or RAID and that you need to put the ICH10
AHCI/RAIID drivers on a floppy, re-install XP and press F6 when
prompted, then insert the floppy when prompted (a little later on.)
Alternatively, set 'SATA Configuration' to IDE and it should boot
but you'll not be able to use advanced SATA features, such as NCQ.
If it's not this, then it could be memory - make sure that is set to SPD
and try it with only 1 stick at a time, just in case you have a faulty
stick.
