Hi
I had a very similar experience.
Bad memory.
No matter what you try and install it's going to glitch.
The page fault error you mention is most commonly bad memory.
Incorrect timings or other settings specific to memory could also
cause this. This is what you would want to check first. Verify what
you have and that BIOS settings are compatible.
In my case diagnosis was easy. I had two sticks of memory. I removed
one and had no problem. Replaced the bad stick and everything was
fine.

hope this helps,

(ive seen threads about this error that suggest all kinds of
possibilities)

HI,

I have tried a new stick on Memory and still have the same problem, I have
also formatted the Hard Drive and still get the same error, the only two
things that I can think of are;

(1) I am still using my Duron 1200 and possibility either the default
setting is not suitable on the memory Bus.
(2) There is a problem with the mobo.

My XP2400 CPU should arrive in the next few days,so i'll try the build then,
if it doesn't work, then I'll have to try changing some of the settings.

Anyone suggest what the correct settings should be for (1) Duron 1200 and
(2) XP2400 (i.e 100/133/33?)

Thanks

Jon
