Thanks... that removes ON from consideration as there are better
options... especially if one has Acrobat.

ON 2003 shipped with the Fuji's but, tinkering with it plus having done
the same about a year before I received the fuji, my needs don't merit
either a purchase nor the time investment that would be needed to use
it's unique capabilities...

....that, plus my computing budget is significantly lower than most
tablet users.

It depends. I've always had Acrobat (at present 9.0 Pro extended) but I
never liked it too much to add handwritten comments on my TabletPC.
A really great tool for commenting/annotating PDFs is the
"PDFAnnotator"[1]

Doing it in my beloved ON is a bit troublesome as ON still does not have
a grouping/anchoring feature ad therefore the comments do not stick to
the underlying images.

One of the first pieces of software bought when I finally got my HP
tc1100 (far too late {siiiigh}) was ON 2003. But a few weeks later I
detected the ON2007 beta and immediately made the move. Since then ON
has been one of my major instruments

That's really sad to hear. I myself do not know how long my "academic"
sources will last ...
