Look for a sticker with white print on a black background on the underside of
the laptop. The numbers are the MAJOR model of Thinkpad and correspond to the
marketing identifiers, e.g. T20, T21, T22 etc. Following the major model are a
hyphen and three characters which are the sub-model. The sub-models vary
according to processor type and speed, type of optical drive, capacity of disk
drive, presence of internal wifi, etc. For example, you might see 2647-3JU on
the sticker. All you would care about is the 2647 part... Ben Myers
