I've a Q-tech PC with an ECS P4M800 M7 v1.0.

It's had plenty of virus problems and has no working USB ports and other
random issues.

Downloaded all drivers but they all fail to install however I try to force
them to take.

I thought it would be easy to just bung in the DVD recovery disc but it
appeared to be the usual XP home install. Everything went fine till I got to
loading drivers and it asked me to insert drivers into floppy which i never
had.

So I aborted the install to do a bit of research but now I cannot use DVD as
a previous start of setup XP is still there.

1. How do I get rid of the black screen XP setup option on boot?
2. Can I recover/repair or install XP with this DVD recovery disc?

Noman

Change the boot sequence in the BIOS to boot from CD first. Repartition and
reformat the hard drive but beware, all data will be lost. Reinstall Win XP
but do not abort the installation if there are drivers which cannot be
found. Let the installation complete. Install AV software and update it.
Install all Windows updates. Now seek and install drivers for
non-functioning drivers, you may have a manufacturers CD with drivers on it.
If you are not confident to attempt this it is probably best to seek expert
help. Good luck . . . .
