Hello Group:

A friend came to me with her old Pavilion N5425 to see why she
couldn't get her laptop to boot up. Suffice it to say that the
diagnostics show that the system board is bad and that I've
recommended that she simply get herself a new computer.

However, like a fool, I told her I could probably remove the hard
disk and recover photos and other data on there. The problem is that
it's not at all obvious how to take the unit apart to remove the hard
disk. I was unable to locate directions to do this on the HP website.

Can anybody point me to directions to open up a Pavilion N5425 to
remove the hard disk?

Try a google search for XE3.pdf, it should cover that laptop, the
hard-drive is
under the keyboard iirc.
