Hmm... What's the _right_ way <tm> to remove a disk from a
running Solaris system on a Sun Fire X4240 server?
Unconfiguring the disk with 'cfgadm':
# cfgadm -c unconfigure c2::dsk/c2t15d0
works, but that doesn't spin it down or remove power to it...
The other obvious alternatives (disconnect or remove) just fails:
# cfgadm -c disconnect c2::dsk/c2t15d0
cfgadm: Hardware specific failure: operation not supported for SCSI device
# cfgadm -c remove c2::dsk/c2t15d0
cfgadm: Configuration operation not supported
There surely must be some way to spin down a disk in the X4240?
We are using the LSI logic SAS HBA adapter instead of the
Adaptec SAS RAID adapter.
Speaking of the X4240 - does anyone know that type the
onboard builtin controllers are?
