Such things are never documented :-) I've been through the same hell,
cannot clearly see because of stuff in the way, and don't know which way
to move it.
Have a look at the picture here. On the right, you can see a "heel"
on the right hand end of the slot connector. Now, imagine a tab had
a "circle" or "dimple" on it, that fitted into that opening. It would
hold the card pretty securely in place, wouldn't it ? Moving the clip
sideways, might allow the heel to move upwards.

Look for a picture of your video card, so you can examine for that
"heel" looking thing. That might be how the clamp works.
