Screen Resolution Problems

OK here I will ask again about screen resolution, have tried everything
except buying a new vid card to replace the online video on my G6 333mhz
computer w98SE. Still loses the 1024 setting and reverts back to the 640
when shut down, as I said before I have replaced the CMOS battery, gone in
and deleted under My Computer\properties\device manager\displayadapters and
also under sound\video and game controllers I deleted video driver for
Mpact, is there anything else I could look at before either buying a new
video card or just fdisk and formatting?

I am afraid I have run out of ideas! Thanks though if anyone has any
more ideas!

If you delete a device, Windows will find and install it again. So try
unchecking "Use in this configuration" (or however it is worded) for the
unused onboard video, so Windows will not try to use it (or see if there
is some way to deactivate it in BIOS (CMOS setup).
