I figured it out on my own... The manual stated that the cpu
frequency item was "display only" and sure enough I didn't appear to
have the option of changing it. Of course, after setting "auto detect
CPU" (or something like that - not sure as I don't have the bios
screen in front of me) to "disabled", I had the option of changing CPU
frequency. My pc is now running correctly at XP2500+ speed.
Once I get everything working correctly, I'll pursue the overclocking
stuff...
No I have the problem of not being able to load the drivers from the
MB's included CD-Rom. Some of them load ok, but others fail with an
error when attempting to start the Installshield process "1607:
Unable to install Installshield scripting runtime". This is causing
me problems with the on-board sound and USB devices in Win98. The
best answer is probably to upgrade from Win98 to XP and scrap the
onboard sound anyway, but finances will not allow for either right
now...
