Sony G520P dark shades next to lines of text.

Currently I am seeing visible transparent shades of grey next to lines
of black text that gradually fade away after about an inch or two on
my monitor. They are the same height as the line of text. The
resulting effect is that on a text heavy document, like an essay on
Word, will have like a "venetian blind" effect next to the blocks of
text with alternating line of grey and the regular background. When
highlighting the line of text, the grey shade virtually disappears
then reappears after deselecting. This occurs in both 1280 x 1024 and
1600 x 1200 resolutions but is more evident in the latter.
