Sound card for HP Pavilion 5000 (5078) series laptop

Does anyone know if I can replace the sound card on my HP Pavilion zx5078cl laptop? I'm not sure if I can purchase a replacement audio card separately or if it's a permanent part of the motherboard.
My audio works intermittently, mostly it doesn't work. I have upgraded the drivers, BIOS, etc and nothing seems to help. I think it is a hardware issue.
