sound not working

I've got an oldish machinwe with a K7N"2n board and with the latest
nvidia drivers downloaded , in I run win XP even with the latest
drivers installed i can get no sound from thee machine. Occasionally
if i completely reload all the drivers i can get sound
then the sound stops working if i turn the machine off or re boot
In contol panel atl the installed hardware sows as working properly
but nothing is shown as insatlled in volume audio or voice . Can
any of you kind peole out htere help me ?

My MSI sound stop working when I tried to overclock the MOB. Had to delete
the sound card in the device manager and restart with no overclocking which
caused it to re-install and work again.
