The emulator runs on 64bit Linux, emulates Sun4m SS20 machine with one CPU.

Nice, but the download link on their page is broken.

Where would one find an image of Solaris 2.5-8 nowadays?

<sigh> Yes, and like literally everything I've ever tried to grab from one of
their torrents, it's stone dead.

On the shelf behind my chair seen in this picture

<http://thadlabs.com/PIX/Thad_desk.jpg>

where there's one SS20 atop the pile in the background center
and a few more in another room. The OS packages are on this shelf:

<http://thadlabs.com/PIX/Solaris_SPARC_SW.jpg>

where, from left-to-right, are the original cases/boxes with
original contents for:

Solaris 1.1.2 for SPARC
Solaris 2.5 Software Developer Kit, SPARC/x86 Edition
Solaris 2.5 Desktop, SPARC Edition
Solaris 2.5.1 Hardware 4/97, Desktop SPARC Platform Edition
Solaris 2.5.1 Hardware 4/97, Server SPARC Platform Edition
Solaris 2.6 Server SPARC Platform Edition
Solaris 2.6 Desktop SPARC Platform Edition
Solaris 8 2/02 SPARC Platform Edition
Solaris 9 Sun Developer Software Enterprise Edition

I still have tapes for SunOS 3.* and 4.*, too.

:-)

The Solaris 1.1.2 above is also really Sunos 4.1.2 or 4.1.3
IIRC. They hung the Solaris name on it because X11 was rolled into the
install CD.

No tapes for SunOs 2.*

Enjoy,
DoN.

The FTP server had some problem, it works for me now.

Solaris/SunOS can be installed on emulator via ISO image, too.

FWIW: Solaris 1.1.2 = SunOS 4.1.4

Likewise, SunOS 4.1.3 was Solaris 1.1, and then a bunch of subversion
shuffle around to get 1.1.1 and 1.1.1B and the like.
