If I set some folders in Spotlight's privacy pane is the (all ready indexed)
content of those folders
removed from Spotlight's index or just ignored/filtered when doing a search?

Also I have tried to read up on a few sites, but am I right in thinking that:

.Spotlight-V100 is spotlight's index file and each volume has a .Spotlight-V100
file in it's root
directory ?

If I get rid of theses and deactivate spotlight that is the end of spotlight's
index or is there
anything else I need to do ?

P.S anyone know why Apple did that ugly hack of exploding your mboxes content
into individual
email files ? That is so crap.
