Going to do this swap so I can run PC3200 memory and an Athlon 333FSB chip.
Have read a couple of different approaches to changing mobos on an XP
system. One approach said run the XP CD and select "upgrade" than kill the
power as it reboots, swap mobo, reboot from CD and let XP reinstall
continue. This will require reloading SP2.

Another site said if I unload all the chipset specific drivers (going from a
Via to nForce chipset) and the AGP driver (ATI in my case), I should be
able boot right back into XP without any upgrade or repair install then
install the new chipset drivers and reinstall the ATI drivers.

Wondering if anyone has tried either approach and which you would recommend.

Thanks.

I tried the 2nd method but it wouldn't boot on the new board so I wound
up doing a repair installation and then reloading SP1 and all the other
patches. I don't know whether I missed something or maybe the procedure
just doesn't work. OTOH, all programs, data were intact so it could have
been worse.
