I'm not an Intel expert. I've been using AMD Chips for 5 years or so. A
quick trip to Pricewatch shows P III' up to 1.4Ghz. Everything over1.13 seems to be 133Mhz FSB. The 1.13's seem to be in both 100 and 133. I would be careful of the 1.13/100's as Intel released ALLOT of them before recalling them. I am sure there are more than a few unscrupulous vendors out there still selling them. Intel re-released them a year later without the bug but why roll the dice with your money. The Celeron1.2/Slotket suggestion seems to be the best. But if you go to http://processorfinder.intel.com you'll find the only 1.13Ghz PIII processors they *admit* having produced are 133Mhz Tualatin parts. There was a 1.10Ghz Coppermine 100Mhz part (SL5QW). Very rare AFAIK, and S370 only. >>>nECrO >>> >>>"Lane Lewis" <> wrote in message >>>news:m6pJa.100121$. rr.com... >>> >>> >>>>"Beaufort" <> wrote in message >>>>news:62SIa.5438$_. .. >>>> >>>> >>>>>I am looking to buy a 800 or faster P111 chip with a FSB of 100 mhz, > > and > >>>a >>> >>> >>>>>slot 1 >>>>> >>>>> >>>>> >>>>> >>>> >>>>for the price of a PIII you can get a celeron 1200 and motherboard that >>> >>>will >>> >>> >>>>be cheaper and faster. >>>> >>>>Comp Geeks >>>>http://www.compgeeks.com/details.asp?invtid=SY-TISU $ 64 USD >>>>Maybe able to overclock. >>>> >>>>Celeron 1.2 $42 USD Newegg >>>> >>>>or >>>>Newegg also has a ECS MB for $46 + Shipping But not good for >>> >>>overclocking. >>> >>> >>>>Celeron 1.4 $56 USD >>>> >>>> >>>>Lane >>>> >>>> >>>> >>>> >>> >>> >>> > > |

And you can always use your old board for something else (ebay). If your lacking memory and case go with a P4 or AMD. What are those slotkets going for. Lane |

Unless someone figured out how to make an 11.3 multiplier they (1.13 gig) are all 8.5x 133 MHz parts. |

Good point. I didn't stop to do the math.
) I saw that there were 2listings on pricewatch. One for an Intel PIII 1.13ghz and one for an Intel PIII 1.13Ghz/133FSB. You know what they say about assuming. nECrO "David Maynard" <> wrote in message news:... > nECrO wrote: > > "Triffid" <> wrote in message > > news:4srKa.5166$.. . > > > >> > >>nECrO wrote: > >> > >>>I'm not an Intel expert. Right now it looks like the PIII 1.13 listing is showing S (512K L2 cache) PIIIs but I *have* seen them, in the past, listed as '100 MHz FSB' even though no such animal exists. When you'd check the actual listing it would be something else with a B.S. comment line saying "not 1.13MHz." I see people doing the "not <insert whatever" switcheru on other things too. > "David Maynard" <> wrote in message > news:... > >>nECrO wrote: >> >>>"Triffid" <> wrote in message >>>news:4srKa.5166$ m... >>> >>> >>>>nECrO wrote: >>>> >>>> >>>>>I'm not an Intel expert. 1.13 is ONLY 133.
You can argument this for yourself, just ask yourself the question "can there be non integer multipliers?" Since they don't exist, 1.13 can not be an attainable clockspeed with 100 mhz. Ergo, 1.13 gig processors are ALWAYS 133 mhz bus. It was stretching the then current technology, so it really didn't overclock very well. The later .13 micron processors were pretty good oc'ers. regards, Cornelis "nECrO" <> wrote in message news:tm9Ka.2680028$... > I'm not an Intel expert. I've been using AMD Chips for 5 years or so.
