Tried to use a 7200 series 32mb DDR and it wouldnt work.
My mate says they are biased towards geforce so I bought a TI4200 and worked first time. I had tried the ATI again and again and as soon as I put in back in its origianl machine with a modern cheap LEX mb it worked perfect. Someone done a google search and says there are many people who cannot get ATI cards to boot with Chaintech boards. Anyone know why? |

According to Chaintech support the latest CPU is supported (both 3.2Ghz
ones) and the power-on switch doesn't work probably because of a too low standby voltage from the PSU, 4.6 4.8 instead of 5v. Gary....it supports up to a P4 3.6ghz+ but maybe thats not what you meant
and if its not then the answer you are looking for is YES it also supports the new Pentium Prescott chip (The P5)!!!! Fred......now I may be talking crap because I know nothing about voltages
etc but if the Power on by Keyboard,Mouse,Etc works then why shouldnt the remote? And I just tried Power ON by.......... and they all work fine! I am talking crap......nothing new there ho ho
Fred you were spot on............ I wrote to Chaintech and received this reply in 6 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dear Sir: In order to get the PC to turn on by the remote you will need to ensure that you have a sturdy Power Supply present that can provide a steady 5 volts in standby. If the PSU is only delivering 4.7>4.9 then the power-on function can not be easily triggered. Yours sincerely, Chaintech Technical Support "Ginchy" <> wrote in message news:br414b$j40$... > Fred......now I may be talking crap because I know nothing about voltages > etc but if the Power on by Keyboard,Mouse,Etc works then why shouldnt the > remote? > > And I just tried Power ON by.......... and they all work fine! > > > "Fred" <gvdkroonATSPAMxs4all.nl> wrote in message > news:3fd5058a$0$200$... > > According to Chaintech support the latest CPU is supported (both 3.2Ghz > > ones) and the power-on switch doesn't work probably because of a too low > > standby voltage from the PSU, 4.6 4.8 instead of 5v. > > > > "gary cooper" <> wrote in message > > news:br2a65$fft$... > > > Hi Lads I too have this board and I am very pleased with it.as you say > the > > > remote power on button don't work on mine .don't know if it is supposed > to > > > though..I have up dated mine to the latest bios but no mention of what > > cpu's > > > it supports I hope it supports the latest 1's just coming out.. > > > > > > > > > > > > |
