I am new to this group, so please forgive me if this has already been
answered (all though I did a search and could not find anything related). I
just purchased a K7S5A PRO with Athlon 2000 at Frys. It installed without
any problems. Win2k also installed without any problems. However, what I am
seeing is that every once in a while, if you open the CD tray the system
will either hard lock or will shut off completely (not going through normal
Windows shutdown).

Does anyone have any clues as to why this is happening?

Thanks in advance,
J. Smith

ps. Please reply to me here, having problems with the email account.

Here's a rough guide to psu consumption I made from either Andatech or
Tomshardware sites. The -3.3, -5 and -12 don't count for modern ATX boards.
The 5.1 current includes 1.75 current for the P3-933 cpu. Which explained
to me how a 230w rated psu delivering 100w and only 5.5a on the +12v manages
to drive a cpu, mb, floppy, cd, hd and fans.
