Have you tried each stick of RAM separately to determine if one of them is bad? If both work fine independently, perhaps you have a bad slot on the motherboard. |

I've tried this; single they work fine in both slots!! But together one of them is not found by the board! Could it be a problem that the 266 is doublesided and the 333 is singlesided? Thanks ! I'm sure I don't need to tell you that running a DDR266 at DDR333 speed is a
gamble! I'm not too familiar with this board, but if there is an option for running memory at (a ratio of) the FSB speed rather than the memory SPD, that might work as selecting SPD might select the higher of the two. Or maybe the DDR333 doesn't like running at 266 (less likely, my DDR400 is great at 266). You don't say what your FSB is, but if it's more than 133, you shouldn't use that PC2100 anyway. Are you sure that doublesided one isn't ECC memory? I got a couple of those only yesterday- they have 5 chips on one side and 4 on the other. I'm sure you can't mix ECC and non-ECC. The 333 was a present and I thought better two sticks slowly as the 333 at the same speed of 266. My FSB is at the moment 110/110 because of my prozi (1200Mhz Athlon Thunderbird)! I think beacuse of this FSB there never could be a problem with the RAMs. The 266 RAM is a non-ecc Samsung (doublsided: eight chips on every side)! Thanks for the info anyway!
