I use the exact same card in my early version k7s5a, you may have a
bad vid card.

| Hi!
| I just bought a Radeon 8500 LE 64Mo DDR (Hercules) Clock 250/500 and

|
| No problems when DOWNclocking Radeon 8500 GPU to 200Mhz (instead of

|
| I've tried latest SiS AGP Driver 1.16, differents ATI display

| I suspect a weak voltage for my AGP slot ? Is there anybody who

I must admit, my prior post was not totally correct, I have a "built
by ATI" 8500LE 64Meg. However, the card should be substantially the
same as yours, although my card will run at 275/300.

What OS are you using, and what version of directx?

You might try changing your dram timings in the CMOS setup to very
conservative settings.

Further, are you certain you removed and/or uninstalled all of the old
drivers each time you tried different video drivers?

Also, can you run DXDIAG and perform the D3D tests?

| Hi !
| Nothingwrong with then card ! I've already change it for an other
| Hercules FDX Radeon 8500 LE.
| So card is OK (Latest Bios in the video card : 7.8.1)
| Also flash bios of ECS K7S5A
| Tried to change AGP 4X Control in the Bios
| Tried downclock BUS on the motherboad (100Mhz instead of 133)
| Tried to overclock BUS for CPU (143, 147Mhz)
| Tried to remove SiS AGP driver (v1.16)
| Tried Catalyst Drivers 3.2, 3.4 and 3.5
| Tried Omega Drivers (www.omegacorner.com)
|
| The only thing that works is to downclock GPU/Mem on the Radeon
| 200/250 (instead of 250/250)
| This way it is more stable.
|
| Any solution ?

Hi !
This is what I first thought about... But, this model is manufactured
to run 250/250. I think that vcore voltage on AGP is not high enought
to have it stable. Just try to run you CPU at normal clock speed and
lower cpu voltage -> this will get your system unstable and crash
In my opinion, this is what happens with my ECS K7S5A (maybe there is
a new BIOS changing the voltage on AGP bus) ?

I still need more help ;o)
