Hi,
I have just purchased the above and I have set the system up. But when I boot I get nothing no beep no video no nothing. I have tried my althon Axia (1GHz) cpu, which it said was running at 750MHz in the m'board and it worked fine. What could the problem be. Do I need to set some jumper?? or should it work fine out of the box??? Thanks satpal |

I have a 250watt power supply which should be enough, as the moment its only running a gfx card, cpu fan, cpu, and hd. I have tried clearing the bois with no luck. To do a bios update I would change the cpu to my old althon which I would rather not do ![]() When it booted with my old CPU I did 2 error msgs: 1) CMOS wrong size 2) another to do with CMOs but I can;t remember. Thanks satpal > "Satpal Chander" <> wrote in message > news:ateNa.2250$... > > Hi, > > > > I have just purchased the above and I have set the system up. The CMOS wrong size message sounds like either you were successful in flashing the bios, or that your board is aflicted with the infamous K7S5A "lost cmos" problem. The Duron should work fine out of the box, but not if you plug it in to a board running at 133 clock speed. That will give you a blank screen and no post, 'cos the duron runs at 100. It wasn't that, was it? -Dave |

Not done anything to the Bios at all, so must be infamous "Lost cmos" problem. How do I correct this. > The Duron should work fine out of the box, but not if you plug it in > to a board running at 133 clock speed. So if my axia was running at 750 cus the m'board was at 100Mhz then the duron should run on the same board. The only other thing I can think of is the PSU, which is 250watt and it's a pretty good one. before I retired it it was running a machine with loads of stuff it, eg 2 case fans, 4 usb device, gfx card, network card 2 hds, dvd, cdrw floppy without any problem. Thanks satpal |
