I just installed a L7VTA revision 1.1 with Ver 1.7 BIOS
but I can't see how to set the AGP multiplier to x8. The manual that came with the board shows the option in the bios but it isn't there really! According to the mobo manual it should be in Advanced Chipset Features, AGP& P2P Bridge Control . The manual shows the top option to be AGP Apeture Size [125 MB] and the second one : AGP Mode [4X] My actual BIOS has the top option correctly but the 2nd one down is for : AGP Driving Control [Auto] If I change the setting to Manual the 3rd option down then becomes enabled, which is AGP Driving Value [DA] I'm reluctant to try the different possible values in AGP Driving Value though because there are many to choose from. It says : Min=0000 Max=00FF. Key in a HEX Number : __ but it will only let me enter numbers not letters! Can anyone help? Thanks a lot |

http://www.ecsusa.com/downloads/manual_l7.html L7VTA v1.0b: page 03: says AGP slot supports 1.5v AGP cards ONLY. page 20: says 1.5v 8x AGP compatible; backward compatible 4X. Is the Nvidia 4200 1.5v ? But I don't have this board so.... Doesn't appear to be online manual for v1.1. board. M. 30706. 12:50am ET ........... I'm going to contact ecs tech support and find out what they think. |

HTH : ---------- Dear Sir The reason that your manual is telling you that you can adjust the AGP speed in the BIOS is because the manual is a standard manual that has been sent out with this board from the time the board was first created. However, there have been some changes to the board since the release of the manual, more to the point, the AGP has been revised and will no longer allow you to adjust the multiplier because the AGP will automatically detect the speed of the card that is in it and adjust the multiplier to that speed. I have an XFX ti4200 8x video card. What does Windows report yours being? WinXP shows my card as an 8x, but the bios shows 4x so I'm not sure which mode I'm actually in. Tom |
