Hey I bought a Gateway 400sp plus a month or so ago. It's great- the most
bang for the buck as far as the ~$1000 laptops go. Only a 1.8Ghz Celeron, but performance is awesome. Best thing to do is go to a Gateway store and check them out. I got this one over a Dell because of the slightly better design (the Dell 1100 (?) seemed big and bulky to me), came with one stick of 256 ram standard (leaving me the option to upgrade), and it has the built-in mem card reader, and built in wireless. Anyways, just my thoughts. I think the older Gateway laptops were not so hot (Dell's were better)- but now these new Gateways are quite nice. -Scott |
