Hello,
Thanks for the replies! Repost - My laptop took a hit when it fell out of my bag on the street. A true test of IBM craftmanship it seems, I honestly thought it would have survived since the case didn't even get a scratch. Everything ok except that the screen is very very feint. It's not the adapter an external monitor works fine. The model is a R30 No. 2656-e2g. I have gone through the HMM (ftp://ftp.pc.ibm.com/pub/pccbbs/mobiles/02r2913.pdf) as far as "1090 LCD Asesembly", and have reseated the inverter - nothing seems cracked or damaged either, yet still see no obvious problems. Should I be looking somewhere else? Thanks again Tino |

I have a Hitachi with 12.1" TFT, the panel has a long flat cable connecting panel's two circuit boards together. One of the connectors for this cable is a bit loose and the screen faints if I slap the laptop's lid hard with my hand. Just a guess. Olli Meckelburg |
