Hi,
I just got an Ultra-2 Enterprise server with all the accessories, really cheap, and plan to put it into the crawl space in my basement. I can access the server from another SparcStation or a PC to do work. The question is, how can I remotely reboot the server if I need to? I'm sure this is a naive question, but I'm pretty new to this world. thanks a lot for reading my question. bfz -- Direct access to this group with http://web2news.com http://web2news.com/?comp.sys.sun.hardware To contact in private, remove no+-6spp5amm |

Make sure there's enough ventilation. > I can access the server from another SparcStation or a PC to do work. > The question is, how can I remotely reboot the server if I need to? telnet to it, su and then type "init 6". Also, attach a null modem cable to serial port A and hook that up to COM 1 on your PC or attach to the serial port on your SparcStation. That will give you console access. The serial settings are 9600/8/N/1. -am © 2003 |
