The auto ones includes a microprocessor and some buffers. Among other
things, they simulate a mouse and keyboard to the computer(s) not currently
active so that they will boot up and continue to run happily. The other
electronics improve video transmission so that you can switch up to 1600 by
1200 or more. Do not consider manual KVM switches.

Brands? I think that they are all made in small garages on the back streets
of Peking. Even the branded ones start there. All I can suggest is get a
warranty from a retailer who will still be there in 6 or 12 months time. I
am using a brand x 4 way auto KVM with no problems, except I am very
impatient. WinXP locks the keyboard during start up and the KVM recognises
this and locks up until XP releases it. I force it to switch to another
computer by the manual button and it gets unhappy.

The label says Master View. I don't think that means anything.
