I am having trouble getting the WOL on this motherboard
to work. I have tried an Intel Etherexpress 100 Pro
and a 3com 3c905x, and in neither case can I get the
motherboard to wake up. In both cases the little
3 wire cable was attached to the motherboard and NIC.

I updated the BIOS, just in case, but it made no difference.

I've moved the NIC into different slots, as some posts
have suggested that WOL only works in certain slots on
some motherboards, though the manual doesn't make any
mention of this.

If you have WOL working on this motherboard, just a
quick 'it works for me' would be appreciated.

thanks

Simon

Hooking up the hardware is only 25% of the solution, you need WOL software.

Try this freebie to see if you have everything setup correctly, then decide
what WOL management suite you are going to use.

The original question still stands.

My question was, and still is, does anyone have a
working WOL setup with this motherboard?

Just because I currently cannot get this setup to
work, doesn't mean that it doesn't work. Its quite
probable that I am doing something wrong.

If anyone has WOL working on the epox 8kta2 please
post and let me know.

Simon

WOL capability of the board is easily verified. Get the pin description of
the header on the motherboard. Short the appropriate pins and see if it
boots. While your there you might check the standby voltage and make sure it
is there (and check the manual to make sure your power supply supplies
enough current in standby). Are the light(s) on your NIC on?
